# Team and roles

> Invite people to your website, choose what each role can do, and see everything that's happened in the activity log.

Everyone on a website sees the same chats, tasks and reports. Their **role** decides what else they can do. **Settings › Team** has your people, the AI agents and the roles; **Settings › Activity** shows who did what.

## Invite someone

**1. Type their email**

Under **People**, type their email in **Invite by email**.

**2. Choose a role**

Pick the role they'll have. It starts as **Member**.

**3. Send**

Choose **Invite**. They get an email with a link to join; until they do, they show as **Invited, hasn't joined yet**. **Cancel invite** withdraws it.

You can also invite from the website menu at the top of the sidebar: **Invite your team**.

To change someone's role, pick a new one next to their name. To remove someone, use the remove button next to them and confirm. Inviting and managing people needs the **Invite and manage people** permission.

## Roles

Every website has three roles, and you can add your own.

| Role | Can do |
| - | - |
| **Admin** | Everything. This role can't be changed, and every website keeps at least one Admin. |
| **Manager** | Everything except editing the website's settings, billing, and roles. |
| **Member** | See every page, chat with the agents, ask for work, and create and assign tasks — but not change settings, connections, logins, billing or approvals. |

**New role** creates your own: give it a **Role name** and tick what it may do. Change or **Delete** your own roles any time.

### The permissions

| Permission | Lets someone |
| - | - |
| **Edit website settings** | Change the website's details, and delete the website. |
| **Manage saved logins** | Add, change or remove the logins and 2FA codes agents sign in with. |
| **Connect accounts** | Connect or disconnect Google, the website platform and email. |
| **Manage billing and credits** | Change the plan and payment details, and top up Credits. |
| **Edit tracked keywords** | Add or remove tracked searches, accept suggestions, and run a ranking check now. |
| **Edit competitors** | Add or remove competitors. |
| **Edit AI visibility questions** | Add or remove AI topics and questions, and choose the assistants. |
| **Refresh traffic data** | Pull fresh numbers from Google right away. |
| **Delete tasks** | Permanently delete tasks. |
| **Approve website changes** | Approve or reject publishing, website changes, emails and login access. |
| **Invite and manage people** | Invite people, remove them, and change their role. |
| **Create and edit roles** | Create roles and choose what each one can do. |
| **See the activity log** | See **Settings › Activity**. |

Anyone can assign any task to anyone.

## Roles in the chat

The agents know who's asking and what their role allows. If someone asks for something their role can't do — save a login, connect an account, track a keyword, approve a change — the agent says so and names who can. A keyword they ask for becomes a suggestion instead. See [Your SEO Manager](https://docs.visibility.so/seo-manager.md#who-can-answer).

## AI agents

The **AI agents** section lists your website's agents. They work alongside your team; there's nothing to set up. See [Agents](https://docs.visibility.so/agents.md).

## Activity

**Settings › Activity** shows everything people and agents have done on the website — who did it, what changed, and when. Edits show the fields that changed, **before → after**. **Show older** loads more. It needs the **See the activity log** permission.
