# Credits & BYOK

> Understand how credits and bringing your own API keys will work on Visibility.so.

We don't have a pricing yet. We will introduce pricing and the credit system in the future.

## How Credits Work (Coming Soon)

In the future, Credits will be the currency for SEO data services on Visibility.so.

## What Consumes Credits

Once introduced, the following actions will consume credits:

* **AI Visibility Checks**: Querying AI providers to measure brand mentions.
* **Keyword Ranking Pulls**: Retrieving search engine positions for keywords.

## BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys)

BYOK lets you connect your own **DataForSEO** API credentials so that keyword ranking pulls bypass the platform's credit system.

### How It Works

When BYOK is active for a project:

1. Keyword ranking requests go directly to your DataForSEO account.
2. DataForSEO charges appear on your DataForSEO bill.
3. No platform credits are consumed for keyword-related features.

<Note>BYOK applies only to DataForSEO-powered features (keyword rankings).</Note>

### Setting Up BYOK

    Log in to your [DataForSEO](https://dataforseo.com) account and locate your API login and password.

  <Step title="Open Project Configuration">
    Navigate to your project and open the **Configuration** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter DataForSEO Credentials">
    In the DataForSEO section, enter your API login and password.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and Verify">
    Save the configuration. The platform will verify your credentials with a test API call.
